Kern Council of Governments – Kern Regional Blueprint Project
There is the Kern Regional Blueprint Project and there is a Valley Regional Blueprint Project. The purpose of these projects is to gather input from all affected areas and give everyone a voice on the development of Kern County and the San Joaquin Valley over the next 20 to 40 years. One of the topics is transportation and high-speed rail, another is how much farmland and where it should be located as the population growth for our areas continues.
Handling the population growth is the major factor, along with business development and keeping the air clean with better methods of transportation. It has been my privilege to represent the City of Tehachapi at meetings for both the Kern Regional Blueprint Project and the San Joaquin Valley Regional Blueprint Project.
