New City Hall Locations
Did you know there are currently 2 proposed locations for the new Tehachapi City Hall and Civic Center? The first location, the one some city council members are trying to push/slide past the people quickly, is in the new planned shopping center at Valley and Curry. The second location, the one I and many others feel is more suitable, is in Capital Hills near the Post Office.

- The first is from the Tehachapi Residents Association for Political Reform, this must read document is titled Capital Hills vs Curry & Valley.
- The second is a letter and list of city codes that Barbara Homes Reynolds submitted for inclusion in the open session city council meeting on November 19, 2007 regarding the construction of the new City Hall building at Curry and Valley.
FYI:
- The shopping center site is being funded by COI Bonds. These are bonds the voters don’t get to vote on.
- The builder for the proposed City Hall/Civic Center, Empire Land Company, has defaulted on payments to their landscaper for the Alta Vista tract. The City of Tehachapi has had to take over keeping up the landscaping maintenance with no mention of Empire paying the City of Tehachapi back.
